V.I.V.E.K - Soundman EP

New from DEEP MEDI MUSIK- Soundman & Diablo By V.I.V.E.K

"‘Soundman’ is as dark and cold as it gets, a hard, minimal underground riddim charged with some
intricate Techno running’s and a suffocating density ‘Diablo’ starts where ‘Soundman’ left off, more
relentless dark, subbed out chest rattling tension from the Soundsystem man V.I.V.E.K."

Alphabet Pony

Alphabet Pony is an up and coming producer, he has made a wide range of music from electronic to liquid drum & bass and dubstep. Bit by bit he seems to be becoming far more consistent and comfortable in the music that he is creating, this very exciting for any of his fans as he may begin to get some of the respect he deserves. MRgruff thinks that he has a big future and cannot wait for to hear more from this very talented artist.

Ghostpoet and The D.O.T update!

Rizlab, "a
project
created
 to
allow
credible,
pioneering
artists
 to
 freely
experiment", who The D.O.T and Ghostpoet have been working with, have announced that the first track to be born from the collaboration is now complete. The track is called 'Trouble' and now that it has been finished, The D.O.T and Ghostpoet have decided to create an experimental music video. They aim to film an "interactive live-streamed music video", this is the first time that a video like this has been produced. The best part is that YOU decide what goes on, right now you can send suggestions of what you want to happen in the video to Rizlab, The D.O.T and Ghostpoet. Then when the video is streamed live the viewers will get an A or B option to choose what these artists have to deal with in this 'one take' live video.

This is a revolutionary idea so do not miss out on your chance to be a part of it, MRgruff believes this will be  whatever happens all you have to do is email: rizlab.events@exposure.net with suggestions.

Check out the video and the press release for more information!

Many thanks to Gin Trewhella for keeping us updated.

Signal...

For those of you who don't know, back in April Dancehall artistes Baby Cham and Bounty Killer who have not recorded together in almost a decade, reunited on a new single from producer Dave Kelly. The song was called stronger and also featured vocals from Mykal Rose. Feel free to take a listen if you haven't already.

Baby Cham - Stronger ft. Bounty Killer & Mykal Rose

None were more excited about the release of this song than legendary selector David Rodigan, showing his enthusiasm by placing it as a regular in his setlist alongside Dubplates by a catalogue of names from Busy Signal to Damian & Stephen Marley. Recently, Rodigan has, although always prominent, stromed back on to the u.k scene having played at nights by Drum & Bass label Metalheadz and Digital Soundboy as well as the first Skream & Benga presents Fabriclive. No set however, will stand more prominent than that of Outlook 2011 during which, in an hour and a half on the main stage, the festival came to life.

Ghostpoet and The D.O.T

Ghostpoet and The D.O.T officially announced that they are going to be doing a 'project' together.
The D.O.T is Mike Skinner's new collaboration with Rob Harvey talked about a few weeks ago by MRgruff. So far, not much is unknown about this collaboration apart from a selection of tracks and videos that have been posted on their website, but MRgruff is very excited about what is to come.

Ghostpoet is an original and unique artist, since really breaking through onto the UK hip-hop scene with Cash and Carry Me Home he has become increasingly recognised and Mike Skinner said that Ghostpoet was his favorite MC in the country. His album, 'Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam' which was released earlier this year was a huge hit and therefore MRgruff is very excited for this 'project'.

Break's Debut RAM 12" 'Hot Love/Breakast' is OUT NOW

RAM released a new single from another one of the bristol boys - 'Break'.
Break has been smashing the drum and bass scene for nearly 10 years and has a crisp, hard hitting production which highlights what RAM is all about.
Building on his trademark, breakbeat/bassline focussed style, this release from RAM's 'Break' is nothing revolutionary but is definitely worth the buy.

Syd Tha Kyd

Just days after MRgruff talked about the less recognised members of OFWGKTA. Syd Tha Kyd has released the first single from her debut album she is making with Matt Martian. The duo call themselves 'The Internet' and this single is called 'Cocaine' featuring Left Brain. It is said to be her side project but from this single we already have high expectations.

Hijak

Anyone associated with the sounds of DEEP MEDi MUSIK is defiantly worth a mention.
If you don't know about Hijak, get to know.
Having grown up in Croydon, the older brother of Oliver Jones a.k.a Skream, has been prominent to those who follow the deeper, subtler dubstep sound.
Songs such as his MEDi - 02 release Dally clearly showcase this as well as the reggae influence, which Hijak picked up during many years as a successful Jungle DJ.
If you like his sound, make sure you check out Tears, which MRgruff feels is a song that needs no introduction .
